According to one of the definition of alternative medicine, it states that alternative medicine is a term that describes those medical treatments that are used instead of the traditional or mainstream therapies.
There are quite a number of medication/therapies that are classified as alternative medicine, such as meditation, herbal, acupuncture, foot reflexology, reiki healing, hypnosis, Ayurvedic, chiropractic etc.
Alternative medicine is also known as ‘integrative’ or ‘complementary’ medicine. This is because it can be combined and used alongside the mainstream treatment. However, it can be used individually, as a standalone in some situations.
Hypnosis is one such alternative medicine.
